Mourning Night Extended Trailer
This extended trailer of Mourning Night showcases not only Darcy’s abilities as a cinematographer, but also as a producer.
For this shoot she used a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k Pro with a Ronin Gimbal. She shot with an open aperture whenever possible and pulled her own focus.
Sizzle Reel
The following reel is made with four different projects. The first is Will-O’-The-Wisp which is a short film where Darcy was the cinematographer. She was also the cinematographer for the included short film Minimalism. Additionally, there is the short film Thinning where she was the director and co-cinematographer. The final project is called Balls of Tin Season Two and it is a web series for which she was the head cinematographer and one of the directors.
Clips From I Am Myself Alone
This video contains clips from Darcy’s thesis film, I Am Myself Alone. The story follows two young women as they compete fiercely for the leading role in a Shakespearian play. For this project she was the director and one of the producers.
This film was challenging, and also very exciting, to make for several reasons. For one thing, Darcy choreographed and directed a sword fighting sequence with no prior experience what-so-ever. She also got to work with the leading actresses on extensive scenes involving Shakespearean dialogue. Additionally, it required the most involved music score of any film she’s done thus far.
